The Boys entered their first team chess tournament this weekend comprised of the two of them and 3 other Zachary Lane chess club players. Registration was low for the team competition and as a result all teams competed against each other across all age groups. Watching your first grader go up against a high school kid was painful, but when the field leveled out and they had a round against a more even playing fields they did pull off a few wins. In the end they finished second for their age group and it did get them medals that made the team forget the hard losses.
